SurfaPore W
SurfaPore W
SurfaPore W repels water and oil stains on absorptive wood providing excellent dimensional stability against warping and decay. It protects and preserves wood without changing its natural appearance. At the same time it allows it to silver naturally.
How It Works
The formulation consists of three types of differently sized nanoparticles, each with its own purpose. The smaller nanoparticles penetrate the capillaries and bond with the hydroxyl groups of the cellulose content to provide long-term protection against water ingression. The second group of nanoparticles penetrates the appropriate depth to react with organic resins that reside in the wood. The third type is a nano-emulsion of paraffin that ensures enduring surface protection.
This Nano sized barrier is vapour permeable and allows equilibrium between the timber and the ambient atmosphere that minimizes shrinking and expansion and thereby reduces warping and cracking. The lack of residual moisture virtually eliminates mould, mildew and lichens from growing, preventing decay. The life of the timber is extended.

How to Apply - Surface Application
Surface should be dry and clean. Apply with brush, roller, by spraying or dipping. Do not dilute. Allow SurfaPore W to soak for at least 30 seconds or until wood is no longer absorptive. Use second coat only if wood remains absorptive. Remove excess by wiping with a soft rag. Leaving excess to dry might result in a tacky surface, which can be removed with hot water. Maximum water protection is achieved after 24 hrs. Recommended application temperature is above 5°C.
Coverage
Estimated coverage is 8-10m2 per litre, strongly dependent upon the absorptive properties of the surface.
